Anchorage resident, Mrs. Luella May Indahl, 92, died peacefully at the Marlow Manor in Anchorage, Alaska on Oct. 18, 2011, from natural causes.
Mom's family came first. She was a loving and supportive mother. We are blessed with fond memories of Mom's home-made bread, pies and lefse. After receiving the highest score that anyone before her had in the Minnesota State Nursing Board exams, she worked as an operating room nurse in Virginia and at Providence in Anchorage. In addition, she worked as a medical transcriber for David McGuire, M.D. She knit hundreds of Christmas stockings for friends, co-workers and relatives, as well as afghans and sweaters for her children and grandchildren. She was a totally selfless and incredible person.
She is survived by her son Stephen Indahl of Anchorage, Alaska; her daughter Mary Moeglein and her husband Lee of Settler's Bay, Alaska; daughter Julie Rodorigo and her husband James of Mountain Iron; daughter Kathleen Pratt and her husband Cesar Rodriguez of Everett, Wash.; as well as 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Luella was preceded in death by her son Charles Indhal; grandson, Nicholas Indahl; and granddaughter, Annette Rodrigo.
Graveside service 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery, 535 E. Ninth Ave., Anchorage. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Anchorage. Pastor Scott Fuller will be officiating.
