BIVALVE--Donald Parks, 75, of Bivalve, a retired Poplar Hill Correctional Camp guard, was dead on arrival Wednesday at Peninsula General Hospital. He had been in failing health for sometime. Mr. Parks retired in 1964.
He was a former Wicomico County deputy sheriff. Mr. Parks was a World War I Army veteran, having served with old Company "I" of the 29th Division. He was born at Holland's Island, and was a son of the late Hezikiah and Annie Crouch Parks.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Katherine Horseman Parks; a son, Gregg Parks, Salisbury; one grandchild; a brother, Page Parks, New York City; a sister, Mrs. Stella Elliott, Delmar, and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Messick Funeral Home here. The Rev. Waldo Dise will officiate. Interment will be in Bivalve Cemetery.
