James Myrl Brainard Sr., 55, of Warren, passed away Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at Hospice House of Poland.
He was born Oct. 24, 1958, in Wareham, Mass., the son of the late Robert E. and Helen M. (McVicker) Brainard.
James graduated from Warren G. Harding High School and was employed as a car painter at GM Lordstown and retired after 31 years of employment. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and carpentry and also was strong-willed and determined.
James is survived by his wife, Mary Greathouse Brainard and their sons, James Brainard, Jr. and Christopher (Jessica ) Brainard and daughters, Nakia (fiancee James Hamrick) Zurbuchen and Jennifer Zurbuchen, all of Warren; and grandchildren, Ty and Jordan Hamrick, Sierra, Preston, Cameron and Carly Brainard.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, with calling hours one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Bernard Schmalzreid will officiate.
