Irma R. Decker, 89, died Wednesday at the Gifford Medical Center in Randolph.
She was born Oct. 31, 1910, in Durant, Iowa, daughter of Henry and Minnie (Belter) Ruhser.
She graduated from Durant High School in 1928 and the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1932.
Mrs. Decker moved to New York state in 1932 and married Ellery K. Decker on July 4, 1936.
Mrs. Decker worked as a registered nursed for the Bainbridge Hospital in Bainbridge, N.Y., the Afton Hospital in Afton, N.Y., the Sidney Hospital in Sidney, N.Y., as an operating room nurse, and then for the Gelder Medical Group in Sidney, N.Y., for 20 years, retiring in 1979.
After her retirement she moved with her husband to Orlando, Fla. After the death of her husband in 1994, she moved to Vermont. In 1995, she moved to the Park House in Rochester.
She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, golfing and playing cards.
Survivors include a daughter, Norma Jean Decker of Randolph; three sisters, Mildred Steffen, Norma Ploen and Lucy Wells, all of Durant; a granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and 21 nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Henry Ruhser; and three sisters, Dorothy Bennett, Ruby Nesbitt and Lois Rusher.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Perk House in Rochester by the Rev. Beverly Anderson, pastor of the Rochester Federated Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Day Funeral Home in Randolph.
