Edward Sine Berrier, 87, of Harrisburg, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Harrisburg.

He was born in Fairmont, WV on March 20, 1923, the son of the late Joseph and Grace (Sine) Berrier.

Preceding him in death was his wife of 62 years, Alice (Graff) Berrier. He is survived by his son, Robert Hartman-Berrier and his wife Jay of Halifax, Nova Scotia; two daughters Boni Rush and her husband Pat of Harrisburg; and Sandi Byerly and her husband Jack of Harrisburg; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

He was a 1941 graduate of Duncannon High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater, and was a life member of the American Legion. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Lower Paxton Township.

Ed was a great brick and stone mason, working on such buildings as the National Treasury Building in Washington, DC, the Courthouse of Alexandria, VA, and many other state buildings including our State Capital. He worked for Keiser Construction, Snyder's, and Carretti's. He was recording secretary for the Bricklayer's Union. He had extreme pride in all his work.

Ed loved playing the piano and spent countless hours with family genealogy. His greatest love was the time he spent with his family and the Berrier Island Recreation Association.
