Scranton- Robert B Scranton,52,of Tonawanda unexpectedly Thrusday(July 4,1974) at Kenmore Mercy Hosipal .Born in Buffalo,he had been a resident of Tonawanda for more than 45 years,and was the father of the late Sylvia K.Hutter who died in 1965,son of Myron B Scranton,who died in 1937 and a brother of George C Scranton,who died in 1959.Mr. Scranton was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ and member and officer of Local 369,United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.He is survived by his wife;Marjorie E(nee May)Scranton;two daughters,Mrs Joseph(Beverly) Jowsey of Grand Island,and Mrs. Arthur (Joanne) Madigan Jr of Tonawanda:nine grandchildren,Roger Jr and Deborah Hutter,Ronald ,Randolph K,Anne,Lois, and Joseph JowseyJr.,Marjorie Ellen and Michelle Madigan;his mother Mrs. Carrie W. Scranton of Amherst:three sisters,Mrs Robert(Ruth)Wharam of Tonawanda,Mrs Thomas(Jennie) Neelon of Amherst and Mrs Harold(Helen) Person of Alpena,Michigan and a brother ,Howard B Scranton.Friends may call from 7-9p.m. Friday and 2-4 and 7-9 pm Saturaday and Sunday only at the John O Roth Funeral HOme ,Morgan and William Streets,Tonawanda.Services will be conducted at Salem United Church of Christ by the Rev.Kenneth D Wood.Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery.Tonawanda News
