Obituary
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2011, at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for George W. Daigle, 66, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Reverend Monsignor J. Douglas Courville, JCL, Pastor of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, accompanied by Kevin Naquin, accordionist, will sing "Ave Maria", "Here I Am Lord", "On Eagles' Wings", "I Can Only Imagine" and "Amazing Grace" for the services.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 44 years, Freda Daigle of Scott; one daughter, Corrina Daigle and her companion Robby Venable of Lafayette; two sons, Terry Daigle and his wife Christine of Youngsville and Gerald Daigle and his wife Aimee of Lafayette; six grandchildren, Brandon Venable, Ashley Venable, Connor Daigle, Kiley Daigle, Kipton Daigle and Gavin Mathieu; four sisters, Katherine Roshto, Linda Arthur and her husband Gary, Mary Langley and her husband Norman and Judy Richard and her husband Michael; and two brothers, John Daigle and his wife Betty and Charles Daigle and his wife Shirley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rena Corbello Daigle; one brother, Jimmy Daigle; and one granddaughter, Christina Daigle.

A resident of Scott for most of his life, George Daigle was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott. He was an avid outdoorsman, spending many of hours in his garden and enjoying many camping trips with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and absolutely adored his grandchildren. George will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
