Obituary
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011, at 10:00 AM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Jean Donahue Arceneaux who died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Lafayette General Medical Center. A memorial service is planned to be held in Pittsburgh on May 6.

Msgr. Charles Mallet will conduct the services. Lectors will be Edna Wheeler and Louise Ganucheau. Bess Trahan and Lynda Fontenot will sing the musical selections accompanied by Karen Broussard, organist.

Mrs. Arceneaux was born May 6, 1927, in Pittsburgh, PA. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Patrick J. Arceneaux of Lafayette, one son, Kevin P. Arceneaux and his wife Jan, and one grandson, Sean Ryan Arceneaux, all of Lafayette, three brothers-in-law, Charlie (Barbara), Robert (Esther), and Francis Arceneaux (Lynette); three sisters in law, Aline Arceneaux, Edna A. Wheeler (Bernie) and Suzanne A. Ambler (Richard), all of Lafayette. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Louisiana and Pennsylvania.

Jean was preceded in death by her father, Fred Donahue, her mother, Heneritta Donahue Strimlan, and her stepfather, Frank Strimlan; three brothers-in-law, Edgar P. Arceneaux, Jr., Richard L. Arceneaux and Donald Arceneaux; three sisters-in-law, Lucille Arceneaux, Irma A. Gauthier and Doris A. Begneaud.

Jean was an avid supporter of the Republican Party in Allegheny County, PA, and also in Mississippi and South Carolina during the years she lived in those respective places. She was also a volunteer Pink Lady at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, MS, and continued her volunteer work at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Jefferson Hills, PA, where she served a year term as President of the Auxiliary.

Martin & Castille-downtown-330 St. Landry St., Lafayette, Louisiana was in charge of services.
