Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2007 at a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Milton Anthony Dupuis, Sr., age 76, who passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
The Rev. Bill Melancon, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro will officiate at the services.
Mr. Dupuis was a native of Arnaudville and a resident of Lafayette for most of his life. He retired from Teche Electric with 40 years of service, and was a recipient of the Acadiana Electrical Association "Pioneer Award" for outstanding, exceptional, and unselfish dedication to the Acadiana electrical community. He was a parishioner of St. Leo The Great Catholic Church in Lafayette and was a veteran of the military, having served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Survivors include one son, Milton Dupuis, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Lafayette; three daughters, Cathy D. Hayes and her husband, Scotty, of Carencro, Deborah D. Calais and Sandy D. Broussard and her husband, Neil, all of Lafayette; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Nathan Dupuis and his wife, Delores, of Leonville; and six sisters, Mildred D. Breaux and her husband, James, of Lafayette, Pearl D. Broussard and her husband, Earl, of Opelousas, Lucy D. Broussard and her husband, Woodrow, of Sunset, Ella D. Castille of Opelousas, Gladys D. LeBlanc and her husband, Willis, of Arnaudville and Eula D. Rasmussen of Opelousas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Gloria Grace Cormier; and his parents, Noah Dupuis and mother the former Odile Richard, both natives of Arnaudville.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Hayes, Lonny Hayes, Scott Hayes, Jason Broussard, Neil Broussard and Russ Mouton. Honorary pallbearer will be Blake Broussard.
Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro, 4615 N. University Ave., Carencro was in charge of arrangements.
