Mary Lou (Johnson) Brumley, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 22, 2006, in Magnolia Square, after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 22, 1929, in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Gerald and Flo (Brownfield) Johnson. Mary Lou graduated from Central High School and was married at a very young age to Bill Brumley. When their children were small, they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, for several years and then returned to Springfield where Mary was a homemaker. When her husband's health demanded they move to a drier climate, they moved to Tempe and then Scottsdale, Arizona. Mary Lou was employed at Motorola where she made miniature circuit boards. When Bill's health improved, they returned home to Springfield where she was employed at Royal McBee and Zenith. She was the co-owner of Fairy Tale Fashions with her sister, Linda, for 15 years, working in the business while also working at St. John's Hospital as a nurse's aide. After retirement, she was a volunteer in Cox Hospital's gift shop. Mary Lou had a quick wit and a sense of humor that kept everyone laughing. She always had fun and so did everyone around her. Her humor was still there during her long illness, even in her last days. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill; her beloved "Dad and Mom" and sister Doris Sanders. She is survived by a son, Mike Brumley and wife, Kathy, of Springfield; a daughter, Brenda Funkhouser and husband, Rob, of Springfield; grandson Grant Brumley; granddaughters, Melissa Eisenmann and husband, Ray, and Holy Miller and husband, Allen; three great-grandchildren, Graham and Chloe Eisenmann and Hunter Miller; two sisters, frances Tyndall and Linda Inman, both of Ozark; also two special brothers-in-law, Jerry Inman and Jack Sanders. Services will be held Wednesday, December 27, at 1 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 26, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
