Obituary:
Carnahan-At her home in this place Tuesday morning, Febuary 9, 1892, Mrs Sarah Carnahan, aged 86 years, 11 mos and 5 days.

The death of Mrs. Carnahan removes the oldest citizen born in the town of Butler. According to the history of our county, and from other well authenticated facts she was born in this place on March 4, 1805, and would therefore have been 87 years of age had she lived to the 4th of March coming.

It is also handed down to us, by our history and otherwise, that she the first female child born in the town. Her death therefore certainly takes away the last connecting link between the past and the present of the town, in that respect. There is one older citizen living; General Reed, but he was not born here.

The father of Mrs Carnahan, the late John Potts, Esq., has been deceased for more than fifty years. Her husband, the late Robert Carnahan, Esq., has been deceased for about forty years.

Her death therefore marks an interesting event. She was the last surviving, we believe, of a large family raised in this place and was a woman much respected by all who knew her.

Being an invalid and confined to her house for many years past, but little was seen of her, but the large attendance at her funeral on Thursday indicated the regard people had for her life and memory. She was always a consistent member of the Pres. Church of this place.
