William Grayson, son of John Grayson and Barbara Burdyne, served as a Private in the Militia, under Capt. McCorkle in the American Revolution. In 1787, he married Miss Rachel Cooley, daughter of Thaddeus and Elizabeth Cooley of NY and VA.
