Alexander McIntosh was my GGGrandfather. He married my GGGrandmother Sarah Haddow Nicholson on March 16, 1852 in Dundee, Angus, Scotland. His daughter Agnes, was my GGrandmother. They both were gone way before I was born. My GGGrandfather was a Mariner. Him and my GGGrandmother traveled a lot between Scotland and Australia back then. It is said that in 1867, my GGGrandmother grew homesick for Scotland and took the children and returned back to her homeland and never returned. My GGGrandfather died in 1871 in Australia, before my GGrandmother Agnes, was married that year. I've not found out a lot about him but I know that him and my GGGrandmother arrived in Australia in 1852 aboard the "Mermaid". I have heard she may have accompanied him as a mate on several voyages.
