Robert Theron McMichael was the son of Robert V. and Alice Alfretta Johnson McMichael. Theron was born April 30, 1908, in Grantsville, Utah. When he was 18 months old, his father died of pneumonia. He was raised by his mother Alice. He lived across the street from his grandparents, Charles and Anna Olson Johnson. His Uncle Albert and Aunt Mabel, also lived in the white frame home built by his grandfather, a Swedish carpenter who arrived in Grantsville in 1863.
On June 13, 1939, Theron married Dean Rhada Jacobson. In 1942, they became the parents of twin girls, Linda and Lana. Four years later, Patricia was born to the family.
Theron died July 17, 1977. He was buried in the McMichael family plot in the Grantsville Cemetery.
