Kenneth E. (Bill) Hulett of Eagle Rock, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at St. John’s Hospital in Cassville, Missouri after a brief illness. Kenneth was born March 25, 1924 in Pattonsburg, Missouri to George and Dorothy Carter Hulett. A World War II Navy veteran, Kenneth served as an Electrician’s Mate on the USS Dixie in the South Pacific from 1942 to 1945 and in the Naval Reserves for 16 years. After returning home, he worked for a short time for the Wabash Railroad before settling in Kansas City, Missouri with his bride Lois Severe. They raised two daughters and became a member of the Ruskin Heights Presbyterian Church. Kenneth worked as a meat cutter and supervisor for the Milgram Food Stores in Kansas City for 35 years where took the “Hi, Neighbor” slogan to heart. After retiring from Milgrams, Kenny worked for the Harmon Bus Company driving a school bus and at Minor Park Golf Course as a Marshall until moving from his home in Ruskin Heights to LaCygne Kansas in 1997 to be near his daughter. Kenny began his third career in LaCygne as Marshall at Deer Trace Golf Course in Linn Valley Lakes, Kansas in the summer of 1997 where he met some of the best friends of his life, found old friends from his past and made his first “hole in one.” The golf course in LaCygne was his second home where he could play golf and visit with friends. Here, he made his home until moving to Cassville Missouri in 2010. Kenny, never met a stranger, loved the game of golf, MU Basketball and playing the guitar. Having never met a stranger, he loved everyone he ever met and has a large extended network of friends and family that will miss his smiling face and never forget him.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents George and Dorothy Hulett; his wife of 47 years, Juanita Lois Severe Hulett; one daughter, Linda Kay Hulett Frank, and her husband Michael; 12 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Steven Gash of Eagle Rock Missouri, six grandchildren; April Dawn Looney Bright and husband Brian, Tabetha Frank Quina and husband Gregory, Patrick Chiarelli, Adam Chiarelli, Lauren Gash, Meaghan Chiarelli Babb and husband Cameron and six great- grandchildren, Daelin ,Tristin and Justice Bright, Matthew, Joel and Kaylin Quina; many beloved nieces and nephews and his dearest friend and companion for 13 years, Maxine Kinder.

There will be a Celebration of Kenneth’s life held from 1-3 pm on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Linn Valley Lakes Community Church in LaCygne, Kansas followed by a golf cart procession at Deer Trace Golf Course where is ashes will be spread.
