Marcia Jean Newcomb was born on October 30, 1935 in Schoolcraft Township, Kalamazoo County, MI, was raised in Lake Linden, MI and died at home in Tucson September 2, 2012.

Preceded in death by her parents, Stephen Earl and Gertrude Mary (Thouin) McKevitt and grandson, Douglas Patrick Newcomb Sax. Survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard Thomas Newcomb, professor emeritus AREC UofA; sister, Nancy Baker; four children, Richard Thomas II of Irving, TX, Patricia Marie of Rochester, NY, Stephen Augustine of Tucson, AZ and Mary Margaret "Meg" Sax of Tucson, AZ; four grandsons and one granddaughter.

A Chemistry BS graduate of The College of Saint Scholastica and Medical Technologist, she devoted herself to family life after the birth of her third child. She was an avid tennis player, long time member of the Westward Look Tennis Club. She enjoyed opera, literature, and bridge.

On Friday, September 7, 2012, Visitation at 5:00 p.m. followed by Rosary at 5:30 p.m., will be held at St Thomas Apostle Church, 5150 N. Valley View Rd; Funeral Mass also at St Thomas Apostle Church at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2012, followed by reception at Westward Look Resort. Arrangements entrusted to ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel (742-7901).
