She was born in Rogersville, TN, February 28, 1940, moved to southern California in 1962, and returned to Church Hill in 1991.
She is survived by her two children, Craig (Karen) Craddock of Jacksonville, FL, and Heidi (Robert) Bartlett (Craddock) of Wilmington, CA; four grandchildren, Matthew Bartlett and Zoe Bartlett, and Shannon Craddock and Lesleigh Craddock; one great-grandchild, Harlow Bartlett; sister, Mavis (George) Rassmussen of Long Beach, CA; two nephews, Gary Wechter and Dennis Wechter of Huron, OH; and one niece, Trudy Rivero of Chattanooga, TN.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lindsey Light; mother, Ressie McLain Sauer; and sister, Marjorie Light Wechter.
Martha's best, four legged friend was her little poodle, Trixie. Martha was a Certified Professional Secretary, a substitute teacher for Kingsport School District for many years, and also a self taught artist that loved to paint and sketch.
The loss of Martha will be felt deeply and often by the ones that loved her so much.
There will be a celebration of life at her home, 409 W. Main Blvd., Church Hill, on Wednesday, August 19, 2015, beginning at 6:00 p.m., friends and loved ones comments at 7:30 p.m., and the celebration ending at 9:00 p.m.
Heidi and Craig will scatter Martha's remains in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans upon their return home.
