Aaron Kout Of Denton Dies
Aaron Samuel Kout , 82, died at 3 a.m. today at his home in Denton of a heart condition. He had been in failing health three years and had been bedfast since July 1.
Mr. Kout was a lifelong resident of Doniphan county. His father Jacob Kout, a veteran of the Civil War, and his mother, Mary Clem Kout, were pioneers of Northeast Kansas.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Methodist church in Denton. The Rev., J. O. Borton will officiate. Burial will be in the Denton cemetery. The body will be at the Stanton mortuary in Atchison until the time of the funeral.
Mr. Kout was born Jan., 1 1873 on the farm near Denton which his parents homesteaded. He attended Mt. Vernon school and also Severance school.
March 25, 1903 he married Miss Ida Lucinda Simpson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Simpson of Doniphan county. The wedding took place at the Baptist parsonage in Atchison .
Mr. and Mrs. Kout lived on the Kout family homestead 36 years until he retired 18 years ago. At that time they moved to Denton.
Surviving are his wife of the home: a daughter, Mrs. John M. Joyce, who with her husband lives on the Kout homestead; a son, Henry B. Kout of Shannon; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
