The Normangee Star XXIII No. 24 April 11, 1935
Mrs. Will Newton Called Home
Following a long illness and much suffering, Mrs. Will Newton passed from this earthly life last Friday evening at 8 o'clock. She has been confined to her bed for the past four months, and was always patient and uncomplaining. She often prayed to God to take her home as she was ready to go.
Mrs. Newton was 40 years, ll months and 22 days of age. She leaves to mourn her loss, one daughter, Verdell; her husband and one sister, Mrs. Dee Batson and five brothers.
She was laid to rest in Bethseda Cemetery near Marquez. Bro. J. R. Williams conducted the funeral services. To the heart broken daughter and to the other bereaved ones, the Star joins friends in offering sympathy. May the Heavenly Faith be their source of comfort in the sad loss of mother, wife, sister, and friend.
Asleep in Jesus, blessed sleep from which none ever wakes to weep, a calm and undisturbed repose, unbroken by the last of foes.
