Funeral services for Mr. Alious Richard "Pee Wee" Chevalier, Jr. will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 in Amiable Baptist Church, Glenmora with Reverends Terry Horowitz and Dwayne Davis officiating. Interment will be private under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Glenmora.

Mr. Chevalier, 78 of Glenmora, entered eternal rest Tuesday, March 10, 2009 in the VA Medical Center, Pineville.

"Pee Wee" joined the United States Army when he was 14 and was a veteran of World War II. He was a Union Iron Worker by trade, as a member of Local #469 and a Nursery man by hobby. He loved music, songwriting and singing. He was inducted in the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame as a member of Jay Chevalier and the Louisiana Long Shots.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Chevalier; one son, Richard G. Chevalier; his parents, Alious Richard Chevalier, Sr. and Martha Jenkins Chevalier and one sister, Ina Faye Ganson.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his son, Larry Chevalier and his wife, Alice P. of Glenmora; two daughters, Patricia Langel and her husband, Bernard of Kohler, Wisconsin and Gloria Davis and her husband, Dwayne of Otis; five step-sons, Jimmy Bushey, Dickie Porter, Brian Porter, Kyle Porter and Kelly Porter, all of upstate New York; three sisters, Barbara Farmer of Hineston, Linda Carter of Glenmora and Sue Ramsey of DeRidder; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren and numerous step-grand and great grandchildren.

Friends may call at Amiable Baptist Church, Glenmora Thursday, March 12, 2009 from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Friday, March 13, 2009 from 8 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Chris Chevalier, Nathan Chevalier, Joel Davis, Benji Rhame, Michael Johnson and Billy Pilgrim.
