WINCHESTER, N.H. -- Harvey Blackburn, 65, of 245 Back Ashuelot Road, Winchester, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 26, 2000, at the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene.
He was born Jan. 17, 1935, in Indianapolis, a son of Harvey and Carrie P. (Moore) Blackburn Sr. He was a graduate of the University of Maryland and attended the American University in Washington, D.C.
He was a former resident of Swanzey and had made his home in Ashuelot for the past five years, moving to Winchester recently.
Mr. Blackburn was a marketing manager working with GTE, Litton Industries and the Raytheon Corp.
He was a veteran of Korea serving with the U.S. Marines Corps and later with the U.S. Coast Guard, retiring with the rank of lieutenant.
His interests included animals and fishing, and he was an avid reader and writer.
On Jan. 21, 1983, he married the former Mary Green, who survives.
Besides his wife of Winchester, he leaves two sons, John Blackburn of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Peter Holt of Winchester; two daughters, Mari Ann Neagle of Boxboro, Mass., and Conni Adams of Calhain, Colo.; one brother, Morris A. Phillips of Indianapolis; one sister, Sue Rena Johnson of Springfield, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The Liturgy of the Word will be offered Friday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Winchester. Friends are invited to call at the O'Connor-Carr Funeral Home, 42 Parker St., Winchester, Friday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m.
