Leatress V. "Lea" Ferguson, 81, passed away August 10, 2011. She was born in Oklahoma City to (John) Howard and Hazel (Morton) Calhoun. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School and studied two years of nurses training. She continued her education in the medical profession and became a certified diplomate of the American Board of Quality Assurance/Utilization Review and worked as a Quality Assurance and Social Services coordinator at the St. Rose Dominican hospital in Henderson, Nevada. Upon retirement she moved back to Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Maetta Smith and Martha Graham, and her brother, John Calhoun Jr. She was survived by her husband of 44 years, Dale R. Ferguson; a son, William Schuster and two daughters, Linda Hess and Daina Rose, nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. We all loved her and will miss her dearly. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. A memorial service to celebrate her life was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Forest Hill Christian Church, 2121 N. MacArthur in Oklahoma City.
Cremated, Ashes given to family or friend.
