April 25th, 2013 at 10:22 am, God called Dena home after a long battle with emphysema. She had spent most of this year in hospitals. She was finally moved to hospice, where she passed away six days later. She was married to Bill Byler, retired OCPD, for over 52 years. She was 72 years old when she passed. At the time of her death, she was attended by her husband, son, grandchildren and great grandson. She is survived by: Bill Byler, husband, Bill Byler Jr, Son, Daughter-in-Law Yvonne L. Byler OKC, Granddaughter Robyn Lynn Byler of Jacksonville, Florida, Granddaughter Cynthia Ann Byler, OKC, Granddaughter Jennifer Rene Byler, OKC, Grandson Michael Christopher Byler, OKC, Great Grandson Bryson William Byler, OKC, Ester Merle Boozer, Mother, of Dimmitt, Texas, Monty Boozer, Brother, of Dimmitt, Texas, Glenn Lee Boozer, Brother, of New Mexico. She was born: Anna Ed Dena Boozer on February 9th, 1941 to Homer Monroe and Ester Merle Boozer in El Centro, California. Later the family moved to Texas where she grew up. She met Bill Byler in Canyon, Texas in September, 1960 where she attended West Texas State College. They were married November 16, 1960 in Tucumcari, New Mexico and lived together until her death.
Dena loved and enjoyed her family and is sorely missed by all. She also enjoyed going to the casino and Branson, Missouri at Christmas time. She retired from SW Medical Center after 20 years, then flew with the US Marshal's Service in prisoner transportation. She was cremated as per her wish; Services, officiated by Deacon Dennis Frazier (OCPD Ret.), will be June 1st, at 2:00pm at John Ireland Funeral Home in Moore, Oklahoma.
