Faith and trust in God consoles us in our sorrow
2 Corinthians 1:3-4: "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
God tells us in the gospel of John Let not your hearts be troubled; You believe in God, Believe also in me. In my father's house there are many mansions. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you unto myself, that where I am you may be also.I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you.

From the Psalms we read:
Oh my God, in Thee do I put my trust The Lord will also be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble
Would you pray with me?
Our Father we reach out to You today fill these hearts here today with your love and kindness. We ask for you to bless this family as only You can do in these trying times. Lord bless us now and forever in Jesus name amen

SONG- I'll fly away

Gary Clarence "KO" Baldridge, age 82, of Quitman, went to be with The Lord Tuesday, February 4, 2014, in Tyler.
He was born November 29, 1931 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Thomas O. Baldridge and Bertha Moore Baldridge. KO and his wife Ruth were married 59 years before she preceded him in death on February 12, 2008.

Survided by daughters Deresa Gilbreath, Janelle Kirk, Debra Putnam and Lisa Hudson Grandchildren Clint Raley, Gary Cloninger, Brian Putnam, Brandy Putnam, Aleigha Hudson, Ashlyn Hudson, and Tyler Hudson. Great Grandchildren- Parker and Ambrielle Raley, Laci and Levi Cloninger, Caleb Putnam and Tresdin Talbert and Nephew Jonnnie Jennings.
In the book of 2Timothy God comforts with this verse
I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course I have kept the faith
The Lord is full of compassion and mercy, slow to anger and of great goodness. As a father is tender towards his children, so is the Lord tender to those that fear him. For he knows of what we are made; he remembers that we are but dust. Our days are like the grass; we flourish like a flower of the field; when the wind goes over it, it is gone and its place will know it no more. But the merciful goodness of the Lord endures forever and ever toward those that fear him and his righteousness upon their children's children
Song- I'm bound for the promise land
God gives us courage to bear our loss Romans 8:38,39
For I am persuaded that neither death nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Our hope is in the name of the Lord, Psalm 31:24
Be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart, all you that hope in the Lord
Come unto Me He tells us and I will give you rest. If we respond to His loving invitation we will get the rest we so desperately need in times of sorrow
The bible tells us we will see our loved ones again if we are Christians
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
If you don't know the Lord today I encourage to ask Him into your life. Don't delay because He will return oneday as we just read and one day it will be too late

Song- Precious Memories

If you don't know Him he is calling you today. The Lord wants you to draw close to Him. Where else can you turn in times such as these? Our friends and family are of great comfort but cannot be matched by the complete comfort the Lord gives us. As in Philippians 4:7
I would to read what his daughters wrote about KO
Daddy loved his wife and family most of all.
Loved the outdoors: gardening, fishing, keeping his bird feeders full, noting rainfall amounts on his calendar.

He loved to play 42 with family and friends.
He regularly attended church, enjoyed gospel music,
took Mama to nursing homes where she sang for the residents,
and has walked with God since his salvation in his 20's.

He liked to puzzle us with riddles and limericks.

KO worked for 30 years at Excide Battery in Dallas near Love field Airport. After retiring he worked many part time jobs at the PO, Tax preparer,Cenus taker in East Texas and a most interesting job of providing security for the winning tickets in the McDonalds monopoly games. He would follow the trucks around to make sure they were not hijacked. How would you get a job like that?

As many of you know I grew up next to the Baldridge family in Field city over
on Newkirk St. So I have known some of you for 50 years. As I was talking to some of KO's daughters we were reflecting back on some of the times we had back in FC and how we never would have imagined that I would be here before you today. How as a little boy of 6 years old they use to dress me up in girls clothes. I have a pic of that somewhere.

There were good ole times back there in FC. At the time seemed to be a tough place to grow up but now it doesn't seem so bad. I remember KO being a very patient man around us kids. As far as I know he never called the cops on us but I think miss Haddock did a few times but we road our motorcycles and go carts up and down Cindy Ln endlessly so I couldn't blame her. I remember KO being a fine Christian man. Wished his integrity could have rubbed off on me and my brother a little sooner but we grew up just took a while

Memories from Grandson Gary Cloninger

7. Romans 15:13: "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
