Services Tuesday For Walt Little, Alfalfa Pioneer
Funeral services for Walter Ward Little, 65 years old, were held in the highschool auditorium at Alfalfa Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. and burial was made in the Alfalfa cemetery. Rev. T. Mulder preached the funeral sermon and was assisted in the service by Rev.E.F. Heusel and Rev. L.W. Skaggs. A large crowd attended the services.
Little was a pioneer in the Alfalfa community, coming her shortly after the opening. He has owned and operated a service station on highway No. 41 for several years.
Walter Ward Little was born in Gentry county, Mo., Aug. 29, 1878, and died at his home at Alfalfa Sept. 26t, 1943.
He was married to Maud Bond June 22, 1898. He joined the Methodist church in early life.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, R.J. Little and Leo Little, both of Alfalfa; a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Taylor, Llaves, N.M.; four brothers,E.J. Little, El Reno; Ted Little, Piedmont; Guy Little of California, and Loyd Little, Oklahoma City; three sisters, Maud Underwood, Yukon; Mrs. Bill Burk, Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Herman Merveldt, El Reno, and eight grandchildren.
A son, Orville, preceded him in death Oct. 28, 1928.
