October 11, 1927 - August 27, 2014 ST. PETERSBURG, FL Jimmie Holder Allred, 86, went to be with his Lord and family and friends who pre-deceased him on August 27, 2014. Jimmie died peacefully at home after a 2 month battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Allred Harms, his mother, Ruth Hamor Nelson, his father, Joseph Allred, his brother, Joe and his sister, Juanita. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Gwendolyn. He is also survived by his daughter, Kathy Freeman (Jeff), nieces, Wendy Ripley (Richard) and Amy Burke (Gary) and Jerry Harms. Jimmie was born in Brownwood, Texas in 1927. He served 2 years in the U.S. Army, then attended Cameron College in Lawton, Oklahoma (where he met his wife) and then they both graduated from Oklahoma State University. He spent most of his adult life in Oklahoma City. He moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1995 to be near his daughter and son-in-law. Jimmie worked in the finance business for Ford Motor Credit and then for Fred Jones, Inc. He loved to tell jokes, boat, fish, travel, watch sports and read. He was an avid Oklahoma State fan and followed all of their athletics even after he moved to Florida.
