Molly Nucech Kallio, 87, of Balkan Township died Monday, June 27, 2005 in the Fairview University Medical Center-Mesabi. She was born May 22, 1918 in Tooele, Utah, the daughter of Jerry and Frances Nucech and moved with her family to Balkan Township when she was one year old. She graduated from Chisholm High School with the class of 1936. She was united in marriage to George Kallio on Feb. 23, 1939. She was a loving housewife and mother, and in her quiet manner had a great impact on family and friends. Molly sang with her brother, Elston on the Slovenian Radio Hour when she was young. Her activities centered around her home, loving flower arranging and oil painting and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed traveling to the western states with her husband. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; her daughter, Patricia Komider; sister, Frances Samsa; brothers, Elston Nusich and Albert (Ben) Nucech. Molly is survived by her son, Kenneth (Jonelle) of Balkan Township; five grandchildren, Kevin Kallio, Kim (Mark) Yuretich, Debbie (Tim) Ferrell, Jenelle (Doug) Bryan and Tamera (Mark) Blagoue; 10 great grandchildren; and six nephews and niece. GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS:3-6 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2005 at her son's home at 5874 Long Lake Road, in Balkan Township. At Molly's request there will be no services. Arrangements are with Anderson-Daniels, a Bauman Family Funeral Home, in Hibbing."
