She was born Nov. 7, 1924, and reared in Climax, Ga., on a small farm, to Henry and Julia Worn Swicord. Dee later married Frank Paul De Luca Jr., and they moved to southern California where they reared their family of five children: Gina, Paul, Daryl, Denis and Dana. Shortly after the death of her father, Dee relocated to Panama City Beach to be near her mother and other family members. While living in Florida, Dee worked as a real estate agent.
Most of Dee's children relocated to Fort Bend County, southwest of Houston. Her children convinced her to move to Texas to be near them. Shortly thereafter, she moved into the Terrace, where she met "her best buddy," Bill Penland.
Dee is survived by her brother, Joel Swicord and wife, Treva, and their daughters, Pamela and Debra; sister, Janette Light; sister-in-law, Jean Swicord and her children: Robin, Grady and Steven; four sons: Frank Paul De Luca III and Paul's wife, Vickie, and their children: Eric, Julia and Gina; Daryl and wife, Peggy, and their son, Anthony "T.J.," Denis and wife, Debbie, and their children Emily and Daniel. Dana and wife, Gabrielle, and their children, Joseph and Kailey; daughter, Gina Foster, and her son, Scott Foster, and her daughter, Renee Clinkscales, with husband, Chip, with their children, Travis and Gavin; grandchildren: Renee Clinkscales, Scott Foster, Eric De Luca, Julia De Luca, Gina De Luca, Anthony "T.J.," De Luca, Emily De Luca, Daniel De Luca, Joseph De Luca and Kailey De Luca; and great-grandchildren, Travis Thornton and Gavin Thornton.
