James Archie Britt, 72, of Winona, died of complications from a stroke Thursday, August 21, 1997, at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona.
Mr. Britt, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack P. Britt, was a retired employee of J.A. Olson Company's finishing department in Winona. He was a member of North Winona Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 23, at Oliver Chapel with Dr. Terry Long officiating and the Rev. Albert Britt assisting. Burial was in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery near Winona.
Mr. Britt is survived by his wife, Mrs. Latha Jean Britt of Winona; two sons, James Archie Britt, Jr. of Winona, Kenny Britt of Kilmichael; one sister, Mrs. Helen Roza of West Point; two brothers, William Earl Britt and J.P. Britt, both of Duck Hill; and two grandchildren, Craig and Courtney Britt of Kilmichael.
Pallbearers were Cecil Ray Britt, Curtis Wayne Britt, Ed Jefcoat, John Kerr, Glynn Montague, and R.J. McDonald.
Oliver Funeral Home of Winona, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
