Toccoa, Ga., Mar. 23 - Robert Sherman Burnette, 58, well known Franklin county resident, died at the Anderson Memorial Hospital this morning following a long illness.
Mr. Burnette was born in 1894 the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Burnette. He spent all of his life in Franklin County. He was a member of the Grove Lodge N. 602 of the Masonic order.
In addition to his wife, Mrs. Eurika White Burnette, are six sons, and six daughters; Doyle Burnette, of Toccoa; Fred Burnette, of Eastanollee; Morris Burnette, and Jack Burnette, of Atlanta; Bobby and Dean Burnette, of the home; Mrs. Tom Dover, of Greenville; Mrs. Joe Duvall, of Eastanollee, Mrs. Dorsey Davis, and Miss Sarah Burnette, of Atlanta; Mrs. Henry Watkins, of Martin, and Miss Jean Burnette of the home.
He also leaves one brother and four sisters; Bud Burnette, of Akron, Mrs. Henry Fullbright and Mrs. Morrow Branch, of Carnesville; Mrs. Ben Heaton and Mrs. Jim Stewart, of Aiken.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Allens Methodist Church, near Carnesville, conducted by the Rev. David Wilson and the Rev. James Whitlock Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body, now at the Acree Davis Funeral Home will be carried to the residence Tuesday at 1 p.m..
Mason will have charge of the graveside services
