Rachel Joan Rodriguez
HOUSTON Rachel Joan Rodriguez, 34, passed away Friday, December 2, 2005, at her residence in Houston, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2005, in the Memorial Room of Broadway Funeral Home, Galveston, with Deacon John Pistone of St. Mary's Cathedral Basilica, officiating. Cremation will follow services Thursday, as lovingly granted by her family.
Rachel was born October 15, 1971, in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Warrensburg High School in Warrensburg, Missouri. Rachel was a loving individual whose bubbly personality brought joy to those around her. Talented in many ways, she enjoyed singing and dancing, writing poetry and collective thoughts when she could. Perhaps one of Rachel's most favorite enjoyments, however, was reading. She could find great pleasure from reading a good book. Rachel's biggest love was that of her family. She lived for her loving husband and beautiful sons. She brought a special meaning to the phrase "love of family" and she will be so deeply missed by those that knew her and loved her.
Rachel is preceded in death by her mother, Karen Krekel and also one of her grandparents, Edward Krekel. She leaves behind many wonderful memories with her loving family, husband, Jimmy Rodriguez of Houston, Texas; daughter, Lara Renee Rothove of Kansas; and sons, Vincent Ari Rodriguez and Emilio Santana Rodriguez, both of Houston, Texas. Sharing in her loss, too, is Rachel's father, Roger J. Rothove of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, her mother, Billi Rothove of Sevierville, Tennessee and her grandparents, Beverly Schwaab and husband, W.C. Schwaab of Kansas City, Missouri and Rachel R. Davine of Sevierville, Tennessee. Rachel is also survived by her extended family, step-sons, Jimmy Cruz Rodriguez, Matthew Rodriguez, Albert Rodriguez, Edward Rodriguez and Joseph Rodriguez, her mother-in-law, Rose M. Moreno of Galveston, Texas, father-in-law, Blas Rodriguez and wife, Effie of Hitchcock, two sisters-in-law, Patricia M. Wright and husband, Vernon, Jr. or Dayton, Texas and Rosie M. Leonard and husband, Bill of Gatesville, Texas and also her brother-in-law, Paul B. Rodriguez of Texas City, Texas, numerous loving nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, a host of other loving family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, Rachel's family is requesting that memorials in her memory be made to the love of her two sons, Vincent Ari Rodriguez and Emilio Santana Rodriguez, c/o of Regions Bank, 920 First Street, La Marque, Texas 77568, attn: Alicia L. White.
Cremation services are being provided under the direction of Broadway Funeral Home, Galveston.
