Janet T. Cipriani, 58, of Snydersville, died early Friday morning, April 24, at Abington Health-Lansdale Hospital, Hatfield Township.

Born June 22, 1950, in Plainfield, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Julian A. and Elba (Nazario) Toro and lived in Monroe County for the past 22 years, moving from Plainfield, N.J.

She attended Middlesex County College and Princeton Hospital School of Nursing, where she received her LPN certificate.

Janet devoted her life to nursing and various areas of the health care field. Currently, she was clinical research coordinator at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Neurology Associates of Monroe County. Previously, she worked for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia as a staff nurse; director of community health services with VNA Hospice of Monroe County; and also as a staff LPN in the special care and drug/alcohol detoxification unit at Overlook Hospital.

Her community involvement included singing in the choir and serving as an associate cantor at the Church of St. Luke in Stroudsburg; American Red Cross; board of directors of Pocono Area Transitional Housing; past president of Neighbors of Monroe County; HIV/AIDS Task Force of Monroe County; and singing with the Pocono Mountain Community Chorus of Churches.

She is survived by four children, Michael Cipriani, Nicholas Cipriani, Stephanie Cipriani and Karin Cipriani; a sister, Nancy T. Giacomarra and her husband, Charles; a grandson, Nicholas Anthony Cipriani; an expected granddaughter, due May 30; two nephews, Grant Giacomarra and Kyle Giacomarra; and two nephews and a niece from her former marriage.
