Saved at a very early age, Pastor Josephine walked faithfully with the Lord and was known as a “no nonsense” woman of God who allowed holiness and prayer to govern her life. Pastor Lewis completed her academics at The University of the West Indies- Teacher’s Training College and steadily progressed upwards through her career as a Principal. She was committed to strong pedagogy for primary aged students and combined academics with unshakable foundations of morals, standards and philosophies that would create outstanding citizens of the world. She taught hundreds of children and made each contact unforgettable, from 1968 – 2003. The legacy left to her profession, teachers, students and business persons she met, heard of God’s love and were counseled to “PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING!’
She headed the Youth Arm of the Ministry, The Less Fortunate Program (taking care of the physical needs of the poor and down-trodden), giving full reign to her first love – PRAYER- which also embodied reaching the Nations across the Caribbean through the Media, both radio and television. She served as Dean of the Bethel Bible Institute and had been in this role for the last decade.
Pastor Lewis leaves behind five (5) daughters and five grandchildren. She was a dynamic Speaker, a Mother to all, young at heart and intercessor who was wholly consecrated to God, who stood side by side with her husband to ensure that the Kingdom of God was advanced and the strongholds of the enemy were destroyed in the lives of the people of God.
She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
