Karen Antionette Birdow, 40, of Palestine died March 10, 2007 after a lengthy illness.
She was born March 31, 1966, in Palestine to Mary Katherine and Larkin Birdow.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother and three infant siblings, all of Palestine.
She is survived by her daughters, Tanyatta Birdow, Jaree (George) Birdow-Rhodes and Jessica Birdow. She was blessed with two grandchildren, Ja'Kedrick Birdow and Christian Mims.
She also is survived by two sisters and five brothers, Rachel (Harold) Williams of Augusta, Ga., Veronica Dearring of Augusta, Larkin (Racine) Birdow of Omaha, Neb., Ralph Birdow of Oklahoma and Edward (Janice) Birdow, Sylvester Birdow and James Birdow, all of Palestine; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Karen worked for the State of Texas as a correctional officer for 10 years.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Higher Ground Worship Center, 801 N. Sycamore St., in Palestine with Bishop James M. Busby officiating.
A viewing will be held all day Friday at McCoy Funeral Home in Palestine.
