Memorial services for Brenda Lee Cable, 46, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Evangelistic Temple with Dr. Barry Roberts officiating.

Ms. Cable was cremated. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.

Ms. Cable passed away Saturday Feb. 10 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. She was born December 26, 1960 in Kansas City, Mo. to Earl and Carol Kennedy Shultz. She was a Christian and was formerly employed at Murray Corp. She was self employed as proprietor of M.Wiggley's New and Used Books of Palestine.

Ms. Cable was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her parents, Gene and Carol Benge; brothers, Kirk Shultz and wife Lynita, and John Benge, all of Palestine, and Jon E. Shultz of Elkhart; and sister, Terry Shrode of Jewett. She is also survived by her loving fiancÚ, Richard Handorf Jr.; nieces and nephews include Joshua, Danielle, and Halle Shultz, Katy Shultz, Marcos Navarro Jr. of Palestine, Jon Anthony, Randall and Ashley of Livingston, Jaime and D.J. Shrode of Moody, Allen "Rett" and Josef Shrode of Flo, Krystal and Justin Stare of Tyler, Emily and John Michael Benge of Joshua, and Kevin Benge of Toronto, Canada; special friends, Ethel Clinete of Canyon Lake and John D. Cable of Dallas. Brenda also is survived by a host of loving friends and avid readers whom she loved dearly.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
