His family fled Poland to France in 1939 and then to Mexico in 1943. They obtained Entrance Permits to USA in 1946 and entered the USA through Laredo.
Attended Price College, a Catholic Junior College in Amarillo, Texas. He played on the basketball team and sang in the Choir. He was a 1956 Graduate of St. Edwards University in San Antonio, Texas.
Following a mid-air collision over Laos, LCDR Tyszkiewicz parachuted successfully into the jungle, but when the rescue helicopter attempted to recover him the cable became entangled, and he was dropped to his death.
He was buried at sea in a ceremony on the USS Enterprise.
