Marvin W. Metzger, 74, died at 3 a.m. July 20, 2007, at his residence.
He was born May 18, 1933, in American Township to Levi M. and Grace M. Landes Metzger, who preceded him in death. On June 1, 1957, he married Norma June Bowman, who survives in Elida.
Mr. Metzger was a lifelong dairy farmer. He was a member of the Ash Grove Old German Baptist Brethren Church.
Survivors also include two sons, Danny Metzger, of Anna, and John (Patti) Metzger, of Elida; three daughters, Susan (Russell) Miller, Mary Ann Metzger and Martha (Kent) King, all of Elida; a sister, Maxine (John) Rutrough, of Rocky Mount, Va.; a brother-in-law, Harve (Robyn) Bowman, of Laura; six sisters-in-law, Elizabeth (Charles) Denlinger, of Greenville, Phyllis (Wayne) Miller, of Piqua, Lois (Henry) Garber, of Bradford, Mary (Ronald) Shellabarger, of Arcanum, Nancy (David) Sprenkel, of Covington, and Carol Bowman, of Piqua; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Albert Bowman.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. today at Ash Grove Old German Baptist Brethren Church. Home Brethren will officiate. Burial will be in Ash Grove Cemetery.
A prayer service will begin at 9:15 a.m. today at his residence, 4260 N. Cable Road.
