Nancy was the daughter of Ralph Myers and Evelyn Davison. She married William George Knoepfel on 28 November 1955 in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Nancy Barbara Knoepfel, 77, of Clarks Summit, died Thursday morning at Hospice Community Care Unit in Dunmore. She was the widow of William G. Knoepfel Sr., who died in 2001.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Evelyn Davison Myers and Ralph Myers. She was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and received her nursing degree from Hahnemann Hospital's School of Nursing, now Community Medical Center. Prior to her retirement, Nancy worked as a private-duty registered nurse and as a rehab nurse at Allied Services Rehabilitation Hospital. Nancy was an amazing cook and baker. She was an avid swimmer and loved shopping and doing crossword puzzles.

She was a loving grandmother whose main priority in life was spending time with her grandchildren.

Nancy's family would like to thank Dr. Kristin M. Liptock, the staff at Hospice Community Care and all of the friends who helped care for Nancy during her illness. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are a son, William Jr. and wife, Erin, Clarks Summit; two daughters, Penny Hoffman and husband Stephen , Mount Cobb; and Patti Knoepfel, Tennessee; a sister Joan Liesniesky, Washington, N.J.; three nieces; eight grandchildren, Brad Birch, Beth Vanderbilt, Todd Knoepfel, Heather, Stevie and Stacey Hoffman and Abbey and Emily Knoepfel; and two great-grandchildren, Lacota and Dylan Vanderbilt

The funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Errol Morgan of the Parker Hill Community Church, Clarks Summit. Internment will be in Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Twp.

Friends may call Sunday, from 3 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Community Care Unit.
