Marcella F. Cordts, age 86, of Cobb, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at Upland Hills Health, following an apparent heart attack. The former Marcella Fingerson was born on Feb. 6, 1920, in Eden Township, Iowa County, to Andrew and Cora (Anderson) Fingerson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at Otter Creek Lutheran Church, and was united in marriage to Norman J. Cordts of Cobb on May 22, 1941. Their entire life was spent farming the family farm until retiring in 1990. Marcella was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church, Cobb, teaching Sunday school and an active member of the Women of Peace Lutheran Church. She was devoted to her husband and family and they were her greatest joy. Marcella is survived by three children, Cheryl (James) LaFrentz of Blue Mounds, Mary (George) Nichols of Edgerton, and John "Jack" (Jeanne) Cordts of Cobb; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret (Carl) Nelson of Cobb; a half-brother, Adrian Fingerson of Madison as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Gene; and her beloved husband, Norman Cordts. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2006, at the PEACE LUTHERAN CHURCH, Cobb. Pastor Jonathan P. Baker will officiate, with burial in East Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2006, at the LULLOFF-PETERSON-HOUCK FUNERAL HOME, Dodgeville, and at the church on Saturday after 9 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Upland Hills Health, Bloomfield Manor or Peace Lutheran Church would be greatly appreciated.
