Mrs. Margaret House Jones, 87, of Marshallberg, died Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Carteret General Hospital.
Mrs. Jones was born to Walter Linwood and Emma Fuller House on July 29, 1923 in Louisburg, Franklin County, NC and moved to Beaufort at an early age. She graduated from Beaufort High School Class of 1941, and attended Flora McDonald College. She worked with the Boards of Education in Northampton and Carteret County. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Wagner and Rev. Ellis Bedsworth officiating.
She is survived by her son, Tommy Jones and wife, Ginny of Marshallberg; two daughters, Nancy Piner and husband, Greg of Oriental, Karen Davis and husband, Gary of Marshallberg; seven grandchildren, Tisha Garner, Travis and Megan Garner, Shelley and Ty Piner Rhudy, Abbey Piner, Ben Piner, Ramsey and Bridget Davis, Zachary and Cassandra Davis; four great-grandchildren, Wilson, Caroline and Elizabeth Garner and Evett Rhudy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pelham Jones, her husband of 62 years.
The family will receive friends 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
