When John and Cherie Clark moved in together in 1992, Cherie had two cats named Sam and Mimi. John wanted them to have a cat together, so Robbie came into their home in April of 1993. He was so tiny that he fit in John's hand. They joked that it was obvious that he was John's cat because he had his daddy's blue eyes.

Robbie always loved Sammy, but he and Mimi only tolerated each other as they competed for Sam's attention. As a kitten, Robbie was the friendliest cat you could imagine. He once jumped onto an insurance agent's shoulder as he sat at the kitchen table. Robbie had never seen him before. He was a "shoulder cat" his whole life, and he learned to be careful with his claws so that he didn't draw blood. He also slept every night on his mommy's pillow, most of the time covering up her head.

At 6 months old, a visitor to his home caught Robbie's tail in the bathroom door and pulled the fur off of the tip. This led to emergency surgery to repair the tail. Robbie was sensitive about his tail for the rest of his life and if you looked carefully, you could see that it was just a little bit stubby.

Over the years, Robbie became more and more high-strung, possibly because of his Siamese heritage, or maybe just because he was moved so many times in his life, from Kansas to Minnesota to Ohio to Missouri to North Carolina. By the time his sister, Lizzie came to live in his home in 2005, he was in no mood to share his home with another cat. He made poor Lizzie's life miserable for a couple of years, until his family tried Prozac for him. It calmed him down just enough to help her realize that she didn't really need to be afraid anymore.

Over the years, Robbie lost his friend Sammy and his semi-friend Mimi, and learned to live with Lizzie, Midnight, Charlie and Maynard who had come to live in his house. In 2010, Robbie's doctor diagnosed him with what was probably a cancerous tumor, but at age 18, he was too old for more invasive testing. He took daily steroids for the rest of his days, which kept his weight up and gave him a good quality of life. In September 2012, he got much weaker and his parents knew it was time to make a difficult decision. A vet who made housecalls came and helped him go peacefully into the next world.

He will never be forgotten, a loving baby all his life. John and Cherie always believed that his happiest life would have been in a home with just him and them, where no one ever had to leave the house.
