David Riddle 62, of Metropolis, IL passed away at 1:10 A.M. on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Community Christian Church with Rev. Mike Hardison officiating. There will be no burial.

David is survived by his wife of nearly 20 years, Debbie Riddle of Metropolis; daughter, Amy Riddle of Asheville, NC; son, Lucas Riddle of Metropolis; 3 step-children, Krista Huckelberry and husband Paul of Metropolis, Rebecca Mercer and husband Silas of Asheboro, NC, and Kelly Hunsaker and wife Michelle of Vienna, IL; 10 grandchildren, Josef and Carissa Huckelberry, Silas, Sabrina, Abbey and Jade Mercer, Maleia Evans, Maia Hayden, Kelsey and Kamryn Hunsaker; 1 great granddaughter, Lillie Huckelberry and one sister, Candy Overby of Henderson, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rosemary (Clancey) Riddle; step brother, Terry Simmons; sister, Jill Riddle; and brother in law, Danny Overby.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home. An Elks funeral ritual will be at 7:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations for the Elks National Foundation or Children's Care Corporation to the Metropolis Elks Lodge #1428 104 West 4th Street Metropolis, IL 62960.
