|Birth: ||Mar. 4, 1869|
Grant Dimick was active in politics. His first cousin, Walter Dimick, was a State Senator of OR for a number of years. Grant ran for and almost won the election of Governor of OR in 1914. He was narrowly defeated. He was a judge for a number of years and later became an attorney. In 1924 Grant forged a check for $1000.00 and a warrant for his arrest was issued! He was never seen or heard from again. Nobody knows to this day what happened to him. Is it possible some evil person forced him to do this and then killed him? As driven for fighting for causes to help the people of OR have a better way of life it just appears to be way out of his character to have done something like this of his own free will. We may never know for sure?
On the right are a couple clips from newspapers about Grant Dimick indicating how well known he was and that he apparently fled to Germany in 1924. There were stories in newspapers about him being suspected of and accused of embezzling as much as 150,000 dollars from local people, including his own relatives! That was an enormous sum of money in 1924. Whether he did go to Germany and too, whether he stayed there once he got there is unknown. He was never heard from or seen again.
