Evelyn L. Weevie, age 97, passed away on Friday (March 20, 2015) at Golden Living Center Golden Rule. She was born on January 31, 1918 in Casteen, Ohio to Jessi and Mary Koch. She was a 50 year member of the VFW, where she was the women's auxillary president. Evelyn was also a cook for the VFW and the American Legion. She loved to listen to country and bluegrass music. Survivors include her 5 daughters Eva Butler, esther Drew, Judy Toney, Rhonda (Ed) Dickey, Linda Kolk; Son Russell (Cheryl) Weevie; 41 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Dwight Weevie, daughter Dawn Bass, Son Lowell Weevie, brothers Everett Koch and Charles Koch, sister Esther Spears, and 4 granddaughters. Services for Evelyn will be held on Wednesday (March 25, 2015) at 2 p.m. in Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Pastor Donnie Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow in the veteran's sections of Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call onWednesday from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
