"Vancouver: There was a private service for V. Paul Bequette, who died October 1, 2004, in Vancouver. He was 93. Mr. Bequette worked in aircraft design and production in California and worked on the "Spruce Goose" aircraft that Howard Hughes constructed. Mr. Bequette was a member of the Gulf 100 Mile Per Hour Club.He was born December 16, 1910, in St. Louis, and moved to Clark County in 2002. His wife, Leslie, died in 2002, and a daughter, Shirley Dyer, died in 1986. Survivors include one son, alan of South Beach, Oregon; one brother, anthony of Vancouver; and several granchildren and great-grandchildren. His body was cremated. Hamilton-Mylan funeral Home was in charge of arrangements."
