Jones, landsman (sailor), CSS Chattahoochee, died in the boiler explosion at Blountstown Bar, Florida on the Appalachicola River in 1863. Before the war, he married Elizabeth A. Smith in Alachua County, Florida on October 25, 1855. He was a farmer and together they had three sons, John, William and Lewis.
