Mr. Glover Mitchell was born in Newnan, Georgia on February 6, 1914 to Peter and Irene Mitchell. During World War II he served as PFC in the U.S. Army. He later moved to College Park at an early age where he met and married Josephine Broughton on March 3, 1943. They shared a blissful marriage for over fifty years. The couple renewed there vowels on the occasion of there 50th wedding anniversary among family and friends. For many years Peter was employed with a utility company. He served diligently as a dedicated member of Laster Chapel United Methodist Church in College Park for over thirty years as a member of the Trustee Board and the Male Chorus. Peter also was a handyman, often helping to fix various things for others. He will continue to be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him.

"God hath not promised skies always blue
flower-strewn pathways all our lives through;

God hath not promised sun with rain;
Joy without sorrow; peace without pain.

But God hath promised strength for the day, Rest for the labor; light for the way,

Grace for the trials; help from above
Unfailing sympathy; undying love."
