Quint was the son of Geoffrey LeRoy Fernandez and Marjorie Musacchio. He had one sister, Jeannie and they were brought up in South Dartmouth and Westport, MA. He married and had 1 daughter, Jessica. He was a carpenter. 10 years preceeding his death he had a near-fatal auto accident. His love for his daughter and his determination to restore the farm where he was brought up, and where his father and 91 year old grandfather Gilbert Foster Fernandez still lived, spurred his healing....but his body never stopped hurting. 3 months before Quints death he lost his step brother, David, to suicide. Quint died from another accident, on the way home (on Division Road in Dartmouth) he ran into a tree so strongly that the truck exploded in flames. He once told his sister that if he predeceases her to bury his ashes under the big oak tree on the farm (Stone Barn Farm, originally owned by Quints great grandparents: Ella R. & P. Leroy Lamb) , where his sister Jeannie was also once married. Quint's Uncle Joel and Jeannie, along with a 21-gun salute, placed Quints ashes under the tree.

His cenotaph is at Allen's Neck Friends Cemetery, Quint Lamb Fernandez put there by Quint's best friend, Jimmy Coyle.

A much appreciative "Thank you" to Carol Bailey, who took the pictures of Quint's gravestone and the tree where his ashes were spread on Stone Barn Farm.
