Son of Ezra J. and Lydia (Beaver) Bloom. Worked as a painter before joining the army.
Enlisted in the Regular army on February 10th, 1917 in Elkhart, Indiana.Sent to Columbus Barracks, Ohio where he was assigned to the 1st Company, Coast Artillery Corps. Transferred to Ft. Wright, N.Y.; then to Camp Greene, N.C. He went overseas in April, 1918 with the medical department of the 61st Infantry. He was killed in action in October 1918.
