Julia C. Sistos, 56, a former resident of Nixon, died Monday, May 6, 2002.

She was born in Nixon on Jan. 6, 1946, to Carlos and Angelita (DeLeon) Cardenas.

On May 4, 1966, she married Delfino Sistos, who preceded her in death on May 20, 1996. Mrs. Sistos was a homemaker and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Nixon.

Preceded in death by: husband; father, Carlos Cardenas; four brothers; three sisters.

Survivors include: mother, Angelita Cardenas; daughters, Linda Rojas, Elizabeth Sistos, and Molly Sistos; sons, Delfino Sistos Jr., Frank Sistos, and Richard Sistos; sisters, Lydia Mora, Dora Villarreal, Blanca Acuna, Lucy Molina, Sylvia Reyna, Gracie Saldana, Filla Huerta, and Rita Mendez; brothers, Xavier Cardenas, Joe Cardenas, Eliso Cardenas, Cardenas, nd Louis Cardenas; numerous grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 8, in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, followed by a rosary at 6 p.m., officiated by Deacon Dimas Medina.

A funeral Mass was held on Thursday at 10 a.m., in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father David Tarlizzo officiating.

Mrs. Sistos was cremated following the funeral service.
